A different explanation can make a difference.

Whether you’re a student working to catch up or a parent looking for thoughtful academic support, the starting point is what the student understands now.

  • High-school students
  • Honors & AP students
  • College & university students
  • Mathematics & physics students
  • Engineering & STEM students
  • Math coursework for other majors
  • Graduate students: case-by-case

01 / Core expertise

Rigorous subjects.
Clear explanations.

Build the foundations, connect the ideas, and learn how to approach unfamiliar problems with a method.

Algebra

Strengthen the prerequisite skills that make later mathematics more approachable.

  • Equations & inequalities
  • Functions & graphs
  • Symbolic reasoning

Geometry

Connect diagrams, relationships, and logical reasoning.

  • Geometric relationships
  • Coordinate geometry
  • Proof & reasoning

Trigonometry

Understand the relationships behind trigonometric methods.

  • Angles & the unit circle
  • Trigonometric functions
  • Identities & equations

Precalculus

Build a connected foundation for the transition into calculus.

  • Functions & transformations
  • Exponential & logarithmic functions
  • Preparation for calculus

Calculus

Connect rates of change and accumulation, from introductory to advanced undergraduate work.

  • Calculus I & II
  • Calculus III / Multivariable Calculus
  • Differential Equations

Statistics

Develop careful reasoning about data, uncertainty, and inference.

  • Probability & distributions
  • Estimation
  • Hypothesis testing

Physics

Connect mathematical reasoning to theory and physical application.

  • Mechanics
  • Electricity & magnetism
  • Oscillations & waves

02 / Teaching approach

Understand the why.
Then solve the how.

A useful session goes beyond the answer to a single problem. The focus is on the concepts, decisions, and reasoning you can use on the next one.

Successful tutoring should eventually make the tutor unnecessary. The goal is understanding and independent problem-solving, with progressively less assistance.

  1. Identify the conceptual gap.

Start with your questions. If you cannot identify what is confusing, work backward to what you do understand and find where the gap begins.

  2. Rebuild the underlying concept.

Repair missing prerequisites before moving forward. Adapt the explanation, examples, and pace to the student.

  3. Work through representative problems.

Connect theory to practice, then have the student work through problems with decreasing assistance.

  4. Explain the reasoning yourself.

Talk through the solution and test your understanding with guiding questions.

  5. Develop an independent strategy.

Identify patterns, practice a related problem, and decide what to work on next.

04 / The session experience

A focused space to work things out.

A focused 60-minute session, online nationwide or in person throughout selected areas of the DMV, with sessions available at the student’s home or at a mutually agreed public location.

A shared workspace

Online sessions use a digital whiteboard and screen sharing. In-person sessions take place at the student’s home within selected DMV service areas, with public meeting locations available by agreement.

Reasoning made visible

Problem walkthroughs and conceptual explanations that connect the method to the underlying idea.

Course-focused support

Exam review and homework clarification, with an emphasis on doing and understanding your own work.

A plan for practice

Optional study planning, notes, or practice may be provided when useful. Recurring sessions are available; follow-up materials are not guaranteed after every session.

06 / Common questions

Before we begin.

A few practical details to help you prepare for a focused session.

Primarily high-school students—including standard, honors, and AP courses—and college students. Mathematics, physics, engineering, and other majors taking quantitative courses are welcome. Graduate students are considered case-by-case.

Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Precalculus, Calculus, Statistics, and Physics. Calculus coverage extends through Calculus III / Multivariable Calculus and Differential Equations. Advanced college mathematics requests can be discussed individually.

You do not need to already be good at math to work with me. Students who are struggling, failing, or missing prerequisites are welcome. We can work backward from what you understand to find and repair the foundational gap. Sometimes a different explanation or pace is what is needed.

Online tutoring is available nationwide using screen sharing and a digital whiteboard. In-person tutoring is offered at the student’s home within selected DMV (Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia) service areas. Public meeting locations are also available by agreement. Email to confirm service-area availability and agree on the meeting location before booking. Online platform details will also be confirmed before the session.

Sessions are 60 minutes. Contact the tutor for current rates. The same rate applies online and in person, with a minimum booking of one session. There are no packages, recurring-session discounts, group rates, or separate exam-preparation premiums at launch.

Whenever possible, send homework or problem sets, class notes, current topics, and the material causing difficulty. Include your attempted solutions and any upcoming exam topics so we can focus the session.

Yes. We can clarify concepts, identify errors, work through analogous problems, and prepare with permitted practice materials. You remain responsible for your own work. I do not complete graded assignments, provide answers to active graded examinations, or take quizzes or tests for students.

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows incur a charge of 50% of the session price. If I must cancel, you will not be charged; we can reschedule, and if a reasonable replacement time cannot be arranged, a full refund or credit will be provided.

I will generally provide the full 60 minutes when circumstances allow. The session may need to end at the originally scheduled time if another student is booked immediately afterward or an agreed public meeting location is closing.

Payment is due at booking. The online booking and payment integration is still pending, and no payment processor has been confirmed. Payment instructions will be provided before an appointment is finalized.

Yes, recurring sessions are available. Email to discuss a regular time. Availability, in-home service-area coverage, and any agreed public meeting location must be confirmed.

Notes or practice may be provided when useful, but are not guaranteed after every session. Occasional short questions by email are welcome; substantive instruction should generally wait until the tutoring session.
